Family Camp

August 29 - September 1, 2025

Basic Info & FAQ

I'm not the outdoorsy type. Is this for me?

Yes! While we're located in the Blue Ridge Mountains and you're staying in cabin, this is far from a wilderness excursion! There's fresh coffee in the mornings, meals are catered by a local (awesome) business, and we've hosted every type of family, from newborns to 90 year-old grandparents. No matter your speed, age or experience in the outdoors, everything is optional and you can go at your own pace. If you're not the outdoorsy type, you'll be in the majority here.

Where will we be staying?

Families may choose between staying in cabins at Camp Crestridge and Camp Ridgecrest. Families at Crestridge will be given their own private cabin, which includes 2 individual showers, 2 sinks, and 2 individual toilets. The Camp Ridgecrest for Boys private cabins are clustered around 2 bathhouses, one serving men and one serving women. Families may request which location they prefer based on availability. If you choose to share the cabin with another family, there will be a 10% discount for each family. There can be no more than 12 people in each cabin.

What will we be doing?

While we don't want to spoil the surprise, we will give you a little taste. We hope to create a Ridgecrest Summer Camps experience for you and your family to enjoy together. We want you to have an absolute blast, filled with adventure, fun, laughter, relaxation, and growth. We desire that you grow closer together as a family, and ultimately closer to the Lord. It is our goal that this would be the best weekend of your year!

Is this a family conference?

No. We want this to feel more like a vacation where we do all the planning, cooking, and cleaning, packed with free time to play together across both camp properties. You can choose when and what to enjoy and how you want to unplug for the weekend away. Surrounded by fun together, you will get to connect with your family, and consider how together we fit into God's great love story.

Will we talk about God?

Yes we will. While we hope to point everyone to Jesus, we also believe that it should be a fun experience. We don't do cheesy, and we try not to do awkward. We have found that our God is filled with adventure and we want to explore that with your families.

What if we have never been to camp before? Can we still come?

Of course! About 1/3 of the families will have never been to camp at either Camp Ridgecrest for Boys or Camp Crestridge for Girls before this weekend. We can't think of a better way to "check out" Ridgecrest Summer Camps for your son or daughter!

Are there any attendance guidelines?
There are many great family camps operating today, each with its own focus and attendance guidelines. Like other family camps, our program focus is designed with certain groups in mind. Our attendance guidelines include people related to one another by marriage (the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment), blood, or adoption. And yes, this includes single-parent families!

Are there any minimum age requirements?
We have no age requirements for Family Camp. We do want parents to know that some activities will not be specifically designed for children younger than 6. However, with your guidance, we believe that children of all ages can enjoy an unforgettable weekend with their family at camp!

Can we request to be in the same cabin with other families?
You may request to share a cabin with another family, but please understand we do not:
Place unmarried, romantically involved adults in the same cabin.
Place single adults in a cabin with single adults of the opposite gender (unless related by marriage, blood, or adoption).

There is a family roommate request on your registration form. There will be a discount of 10% if you choose to room with another family. Please remember that there will only be 12 people to a cabin. While we can't guarantee cabin requests, we try very hard to please everyone.

You have seen the life change in your campers after a 2 or 4 week experience with Ridgecrest Summer Camps. Now imagine spending a long weekend with your entire family at Camp! Stay together in a cabin with your own restrooms, and enjoy a weekend in the mountains. Swim as a family, play one of our famous Camp-Wide games, go hiking together, visit our crafts lodge or ceramics studio, enjoy fantastic food, sit by a campfire, rock in a rocking chair, shoot a rifle, or learn to shoot the bow and arrow. Ridgecrest Summer Camps isn't just for kids anymore!

We believe that family is important and we hope to partner with you to create shared experiences together as a family. When is the last time you were set up to have intentional conversation, or have uninterrupted time together? Hear from Godly men and women that your entire family can understand. We believe that we are designed to enjoy and respond to discipleship and adventure. Come experience a weekend of fun and growth with your family here at Ridgecrest Summer Camps!
