Safety Overview

Welcome — we’re glad you’re here.

Seriously.

We know that your child’s safety is likely your biggest question — and perhaps your greatest hesitation — when considering sending them to camp. You should be asking these questions. Trusting your child to someone else is a big decision, and we are grateful for the opportunity to explain how we work to keep campers safe and to earn your trust.

Many members of our full-time team are parents themselves, and those with children the right age send them to Ridgecrest. We understand what it feels like to entrust your most precious gift to a college-aged counselor, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

Because of this, we invest a tremendous amount of time, training, and resources into camper safety. We do not rely on instinct alone. We consult with third-party professionals and industry experts to help design our systems, policies, and procedures. One example is our comprehensive Emergency Action Plan (EAP), which was developed with outside guidance and tailored specifically to our property, programs, and resources. It covers a wide range of scenarios and is reviewed and practiced regularly. Our full-time team trains on this plan multiple times each year.

We cannot eliminate every risk, but we can prepare diligently, train intentionally, and build a culture where safety is a priority. We do our very best to be ready for whatever may come, and we are confident that your camper will be well cared for — and will come home safe.
