Caleb Thompson
CounselorReturners
This will be Caleb's fourth summer at Ridgecrest, and he is excited to return as a counselor! He was a counselor in Thunderhead (2022) and Graybeard (2023-4). Caleb is from Greensboro, NC.
What's something you've always wanted to try but haven't had the chance to yet?
After four summers at camp, I’ve tried just about everything… except maybe getting through a week without misplacing my water bottle. That, and skydiving—because apparently camp insurance doesn’t cover that. Also kinda wish I could lead one cabin group where every guy brushes his teeth without being reminded. A man can dream.
With 4 years to train, what Olympic sport could you most likely medal in?
Volleyball
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would you eat?
Easy: tacos. Versatile, delicious, and socially acceptable for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Plus, they don’t judge me when I drop half the filling on my shirt.
What are you most looking forward to this summer?
Camp chaos, 100%. From bunkroom shenanigans to deep porch convos, I’m here for the growth, the laughs, and pretending I totally meant to lose that dodgeball game to a group of 10-year-olds.
What is your prayer for the summer?
That God works through me even when I’m running on two hours of sleep and mystery meat from the dining hall. I want the guys to feel safe, seen, and hyped about who God made them to be—even if they still don’t know how to put on deodorant.
